Affirmative Psychotherapy

LGBTQIA+ Affirmative Psychotherapy is an approach that validates, advocates, and recognizes the unique needs of diverse sexual and gender identities. My practice is grounded in the celebration of the person’s whole identity, while also acknowledging the interplay between oppression and privilege, and how that navigation between self, others, and the world around you impacts your daily life.  As a non-binary, queer clinician, it is my goal to join you on your mental health journey in a way that empowers you, connects you to community, and aligns you with the most authentic version of yourself.

WPATH Standards for Diagnosing

After a 90-minute Hormone Replacement Evaluation, I will be able to determine if a letter for top (and/or) bottom surgery is right for your individual needs. This is a collaborative decision-making process that includes you every step of the way. This process is not meant to be a gatekeeping step, but rather a treatment planning session for me to assist you with getting access to tailored and meaningful care. I also provide diagnostic clarification on gender dysphoria and other mental health conditions that are present at the time of our evaluation.

90-Minute HRT Evaluation

I provide a 90-minute Hormone Replacement Evaluation for new and existing clients. I utilize World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) Standards, which places gender identity as a component of diversity over diagnosis. My goal with the HRT Evaluation is meant as a treatment planning session to understand gender dysphoria and euphoria in order to link you with necessary care and services in our community. In many cases, surgery letters from mental health providers are still needed – with this evaluation, we will be able to create a treatment plan and move towards letter writing for top and/or bottom surgery. We will discuss the pros and cons unique to you about moving forward with surgery and getting access to gender-affirmative care.
